'Swamp' - Illustration Friday

Here's my finished entry for this weeks Illustration Friday prompt 'Swamp'.

I wanted the house on stilts to look slightly run-down, but also lived in. I think the colours plus the light coming from the windows do this quite well. I wouldn't mind living here actually (well, apart from the dodgy flooring obviously! :D )

FINALLY some personal work time!

My poor blog has been a bit neglected lately due to a rather big commission I'm currently working on, but I've made it a priority to also work on this weeks Illustration Friday too!

Here's my quick little sketch for what I want to do for the prompt 'Swamp'. A higglety-pigglety house on stilts in a murky and slightly spooky swamp land (with private jetty and boat of course!) Like I said, quick sketch for now, but hopefully it'll transform into a lovely finished piece today!

I need a phone with a better camera...

Apologies for the terrible photo, it was taken on my phone. Note to self: next upgrade get a phone with a decent camera!
Anyway, here's progress on this weeks Illustration Friday contest with the topic 'grounded'. I loved the idea of a little fishing boat getting stranded in a precarious and slightly ridiculous place. I've gone sailing a few times before and I always get terrified of getting grounded! Although, to this extreme is thankfully impossible :)
Next to the finished drawing is my tiny 30 second sketch I did whilst on the phone at work, inspiration comes at the strangest times doesn't it? Really pleased with this one so far, looking forward to finishing it tomorrow!

half a century calls for a special card

My dad turns 50 this week, 50! So here is the card I've been working on for him finally finished. As you can probably tell he's into all things nautical hence the theme!
